Charlotte’s Web — ImaginOn Community Art Project
Step into a world where art meets motion, as you physically spin the panels to reveal the enchanting magic of transformation. Watch as distinct variations of the artwork unfold before you, evoking a sense of exploration and collaboration. The ten 6 feet (1,8 meters) gyroscope-like forms with, at the center, a dichroic film, offer new everchanging opportunities that reflect any ray of lights during the day while refracting the inner rings lighting at dusk.
Charlotte SHOUT! Festival Returns to Uptown in April
The festival will run from April 1st through April 17th, with programming scheduled from 11 a.m. Jalia Stanley made sure we didn’t forget about her favorite part of the festival. In addition, local foodies can get a ticket to a culinary tasting tour at Gateway Village on April 15, and sample a variety of foods from restaurants representing different neighborhoods in Charlotte. Set sail to a magical world with pirates and mermaids, with surprises every hour, dance parties, sword fights and more.

Cathedral of Revelry is a large-scale installation that invites people to be immersed in a world of light and refracted colors. We invite you to find a meditative moment absorbing the vibrancy of color, break into an impromptu dance party, or chase bubbles, light and joy. Cons, each designed by a local artist, which punctuates the entire footprint of Charlotte SHOUT! Is the perfect way to break up your workday. Events and installations are scheduled daily from 11 am-11 pm; most are free.

The play of lights, colors, and reflections provides a stunning and immersive way to engage with the city after dark, offering a unique visual experience. The festival will feature music, art, poetry, food, interactive activities, large arts installations, kids’ activities and more. Big bugs — Two giant insects have landed in The Green, created by local artists Ian Wegener and Adam Jochim. Visitors can make the "In(ter)sects" come alive by turning their wheels. Discover secret Alleyways
Weekdays, local buskers perform a variety of entertaining activities. Discover the interconnectedness of resilience and renewal through diverse artistic expressions, curated by Shefalee Patel. Tryon St. features dappled light through branches, simulating the magic of North Carolina’s native songbirds. Enjoy performances from Charlotte elementary, middle and high school students. Test your music knowledge as Mindless Minutia and Bluz present two themed bingo nights.
Make sure to catch one of the shows and witness the beauty of this radical new structure. A Walk in the Shadows is an interactive installation by fiber artist Pam Imhof and SuperDaftBros. Crocheted lace hexagons are connected to form a canopy that viewers can explore from underneath. Viewers can look up and see all of the variations of colors and patterns in the crochet pieces themselves. A second walk and look down reveals the beautiful shadows that are created from the natural sunlight during the day. A Walk in the Shadows comes to life at night with lights by SuperDaftBros for a different experience.
McColl Center glow-up — Beginning at dusk each night, you can see the McColl Center for the Arts in a new light. Artists Rebecca Lipps and Caleb Dickerson have created an interactive video projection titled "Bloom" that allows visitors to make giant flowers bloom on the building. An alley transformed by murals — This ambitious project will transform a formerly-beige alleyway at 100 East 4th St. into a kaleidoscope of color. The work, titled "Luminous Lane" will have 30 murals from 30 different artists. See them paint the alley in real time over the next two weeks. The murals will remain after the festival ends as a permanent attraction in uptown.
Sing and dance to this family-friendly, vaudevillian-style show, presented by Children’s Theater of Charlotte. Based on the “Elephant & Piggie” books by Mo Willems. New York Times bestselling author and “CBS News Sunday Morning” correspondent, David Pogue, explores what a post-robot, post-AI word looks like, discussing the societal and individual impacts. These Uptown buisnesses will have a special SHOUT! Deal, or a fun suprise just for the duration of the festival. Is produced by Charlotte Center City Partners.
You’ll find music at the Ally Main Stage at First Ward Park, Victoria Yards, Pianodrome, Cafe 400 at 400 S Tryon Street, and more.
